Once a year, when the great teachings are given at Bodhgaya, the town becomes the centre of the Buddhist world. Pilgrims arrive from every tradition and every country; the Mahabodhi grounds fill before dawn.
Attending well, in that density, takes preparation and relationships built over decades. We hold a reserved monastery close to the temple, secure morning audience seats, and travel with a senior translator so the teachings arrive in English as they are given. Between sessions the group keeps a quiet practice schedule, and our guide walks the seven sacred spots with anyone who wishes.

The teaching days draw enormous crowds, and attending well depends on reserved space and relationships we protect carefully. We give priority to returning pilgrims and to those continuing onto the India circuit, so the group stays small and the monastery can receive us.
They confirm once the teaching schedule is publicly announced, usually a few months ahead. The window is reliably late December into early January; we hold the reservation and notify enquirers as soon as dates are set.
No, but this is a contemplative week rather than an introduction. The pre-trip sessions and our translator's daily reviews help newer pilgrims follow the material; a willingness to sit with difficulty helps most of all.
